We’re slowly approaching kick-off of Super Bowl LVIII, which means it’s time to get your bets in line.

You can, of course, bet on the spread, total, and moneyline for the game over at FanDuel Sportsbook, but they also have a ton of player props, game props, and specials loaded up to make it even more fun to get in on the action.

Here are my three favorites for the big game:

Anytime Touchdown Scorer

The Pick: Travis Kelce EVEN

You think Taylor Swift is traveling all the way from Japan to Las Vegas to not see Travis score a touchdown?!

For as below-average as Kelce was this regular season (tallying under 1,000 receiving yards for the first time since 2015) he’s shown up in the playoffs. The 34-year-old has been incredibly efficient, catching 23 catches on his 27 targets and hauling in all 11 of his targets in the AFC Championship Game.

He also has three touchdowns over their last two games. He notches another on Sunday.

Player to Record a Sack

The Pick: Chris Jones +132

While a) Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones has yet to record a full sack this postseason and b) San Francisco’s offensive line seldom allows them, Sunday feels like his time to shine.

Working with defensive guru and coordinator Steve Spagnuolo, the 6-foot-6 mammoth gets after Brock Purdy at least once.

Triple Crown – Most Passing, Receiving, Rushing Yards

The Pick: Patrick Mahomes/Travis Kelce/Christian McCaffrey +710

This is one of the more intruiging bets FanDuel has to offer for Sunday and, while I’m going with the favorite, the +710 odds feel too good to pass up.

Mahomes is the best quarterback in football and only has to beat out Brock Purdy, Kelce is the best pass catcher in the game and has been a monster so far in the postseason, and Christian McCaffrey is both the best running back in football and the heartbeat of the 49ers offense.

Like I said, too good to pass up.

Happy Super Bowl week!

The 49ers and Chiefs have officially touched down in Las Vegas as we’re now under a week away from Super Bowl LVIII’s kickoff from Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on Sunday.

You can, of course, bet on the spread, total, and moneyline for the game over at FanDuel Sportsbook, but they also have a ton of player props, game props, and weekend specials loaded up to make it even more fun to get in on the action.

Here’s a look:

Super Bowl Sunday Specials

Patrick Mahomes & Brock Purdy to Combine for 50+ Rushing Yards +150

Chris Jones & Nick Bosa to Both Record 0.5 Sacks Each +340

Christian McCaffery to Score 2+ Touchdowns +410

Super Bowl LIV Repeat – 49ers to Score 0 Points in 4th Quarter +420

George Karlaftis & Chase Young to Record 0.5 Sacks Each +600

Christian McCaffrey to Score 1+ Rushing TD & 1+ Receiving TD +750

McCaffrey, D. Samuel, B. Aiyuk, & G. Kittle to Combine for 300+ Receiving Yards +750

Travis Kelce & George Kittle to Combine for 200+ Receiving Yards +750

Christian McCaffrey & Travis Kelce to Combine for 10+ Receptions in 1st Half +900

Super Bowl LIV Repeat – Deebo Samuel to Record a 30+ Yard Rush +950

Travis Kelce to Catch Every Target +950

Travis Is All Too Well – Kelce to Score a TD in First 10 Min. of Game +1000

Super Bowl Record – Any Player to Record 15+ Receptions +1100

Kelce, Samuel, Aiyuk, & R. Rice to Combine for 400+ Receiving Yards +1300

Kelce & Kittle to Combine for 20+ Catches +1500

75+ Yard Receiving TD to be Scored +2000

McCaffrey, Mahomes, & Pacheco to Combine for 300+ Rushing Yards +2200

Either QB to Catch a Pass +2400

Deebo Samuel to Score 1+ Rushing TD & 1+ Receiving TD +3000

McCaffrey & Pacheco to Both Score 1+ Receiving TD +3200

Super Bowl Record – Any Player to Record 205+ Rushing Yards +3400

60+ Yard Field Goal to be Scored +3500

Any Non-QB to Throw a Passing TD +3500

Either QB to Catch Their Own Pass +5000

Super Bowl Record – Any Player to Record 216+ Receiving Yards +5000

Any Offensive Lineman to Score a TD +6500

Any QB to Score a Receiving TD +13000

Four Horsemen – McCaffrey, Samuel, Aiyuk, Kittle to All Score 1+ Receiving TD +13000

Super Bowl Record – Any Player to Record 506+ Passing Yards +18000

Super Bowl LIV Repeat – Final Score Chiefs 31 – 49ers 20 +25000

Super Bowl LIV Repeat – Mahomes to Rush for Opening TD, Kyle Juszczyk to Score Second TD +50000

Trent McDuffie to Return INT for TD and Chiefs to Win by 6 +50000

First Offensive Play of Game to Result in a Safety +50000

Here are my three favorites:

Christian McCaffrey to Score 1+ Rushing TD & 1+ Receiving TD +750

While Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is likely to draw up a sensational game plan against the high-flying 49ers offense, Christian McCaffrey may be the one player in the NFL who can stress it.

He scored 21 touchdowns (14 rushing, 7 receiving) in the regular season and has four (all rushing) thus far in the postseason. I like the +750 odds for him to find paydirt twice, once on the ground and once through the air, on Sunday.

Travis Kelce to Catch Every Target +950

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been incredibly efficient in the postseason, catching 23 catches on his 27 targets (including an 11-for-11 performance in the AFC Championship).

He and Mahomes keep it rolling on Sunday. I love +950 odds for the dynamic duo to bat 1.000.

75+ Yard Receiving TD to be Scored +2000

I needed a long shot, so both San Francisco and Kansas City’s offenses have the ability to pop off at any time. It’s the Super Bowl. Both play-callers should have a trick or two up their sleeve that can result in a long score.

I’m not sure there’s an easy way to outdo last year’s Super Bowl Halftime show in LA, which consisted of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar – but the NFL can certainly try.

Rihanna will perform at this year’s show from Arizona’s State Farm Stadium, with likely plenty of guest appearances as well.

Want to bet on it? Let’s bet on it. Here are some of BetOnline.ag’s prop bets for Sunday night’s halftime show, with my take and a pick for each:

First Song Sang on Stage

Don’t Stop the Music                           -160

This is What You Came For               +500

Diamonds                                              +500

Umbrella                                               +600

Where Have You Been                        +600

Stay                                                          +700

What’s My Name                                +1000

We Found Love                                   +1000

Only Girl (In the World)                    +1200

Rude Boy                                               +1200

Work                                                       +1200

Hate That I Love You                          +1200

“Don’t Stop the Music” is understandably the overwhelming favorite here at -160, but as I know from past experience – the favorite rarely hits here – they tend to go against the grain.

Rihanna has plenty of hits with odds of 10/1 or better. I’m going to choose my personal favorite – “What’s My Name” (feat. Drake), to be the first one performed.

The pick: What’s My Name (+1000)

Total Number of Songs Performed

Over 8.5          -110

Under 8.5       -130

This one’s easy. Give me the over. Rihanna is the second best-selling female music artist of all time behind only Madonna. She has so many hits – she should perform as many as possible.

There’s twelve songs listed that could be played first according to BetOnline. I’d be shocked if she didn’t play all of them. This goes well OVER 8.5.

The pick: OVER 8.5 (-110)

To Make An Appearance on State with Rihanna

Jay-Z                            -225

Drake                           -200

Eminem                       +150

A$AP Rocky                +250

Future                          +600

T.I.                                +700

Kanye West                 +800

Like I mentioned in the intro, there will likely be plenty of guest appearances during Sunday’s show. However I don’t see much value on the betting board.

Drake feels like the easiest play as he’s never performed at the Super Bowl and is one of the top performers in the country. It’s the right bet, but may not be worth laying -200.

The pick: Drake (-200)

Rihanna Dress/Primary Shirt Color

Black                           -200

White                         +450

Grey/Silver               +500

Yellow/Gold             +600

Red                             +800

Pink                          +1200

Green                       +1400

Blue                          +1600

Black is the heavy favorite here at -200 and although it’s likely, I don’t think it’s that likely. Let’s go for a long shot.

The Chiefs wear red (+800), and the Eagles wear green (+1400) – so let’s eliminate those for potential biases. Grey/Silver is the most neutral color on the board, and there’s some value there at 5/1. Let’s take it.

The pick: Grey/Silver (+500)

Moneyline: Eagles -120/Chiefs EVEN

Storylines

BetOnline checked the pulse of the nation heading into Sunday, and the country is relatively split in terms of rooting interest. Here’s what they found:

The map below is based on geotagged Twitter data from Sunday Evening (after the matchup was officially set) to now, tracking official fan hashtags in each state to see who is rooting for the Chiefs or Eagles in Super Bowl 57. For example, #ChiefsKingdom and #FlyEaglesFly. Over 217,000 tweets were tracked.

As you can see from the map, there’s definitely a regional component. The eastern part of the Midwest rooting for the Eagles can be explained by Bengals fans wanting to see their loss avenged, and the Eagles rooting interest out west can be explained by the Chiefs divisional rivalry with the Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, and Los Angeles Chargers. The middle of the country rooting for the Chiefs is pretty self-explanatory and Texas is definitely rooting for the Chiefs, as Dallas Cowboys fans certainly don’t want to see their hated rival, the Eagles, win the Super Bowl.

State breakdown is as follows. Below the Map is the state-by-state breakdown and what percentage of fans from that state are rooting for the Eagles or Chiefs.

Eagles – 28 states are rooting for the Eagles
Chiefs – 22 states are rooting for the Chiefs

These five states have the highest percentage of people rooting for the Eagles: Pennsylvania, Delaware, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Maryland.

These five states have the highest percentage of people rooting for the Chiefs:  Kansas, Missouri, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Texas.

These five states are the most divided: South Carolina, Vermont, North Dakota, Michigan, and Colorado.

Now let’s get to the game:

PHI Eagles

The Eagles come into Sunday with a 14-3 record this season, and a 14-1 record in games Jalen Hurts competes in. He’s been arguably the most impressive quarterback in the NFL and would have likely won the league MVP award had he not missed two games due to injury.

Philly’s most impressive feature, however, is their defense. The Eagles front seven had four guys with 11+ sacks this season, and defensive end Haason Reddick was the runner-up for the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year this season behind Nick Bosa.

KC Chiefs

As for the Chiefs – they have the league’s best player in Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes won his second NFL MVP award on Thursday night, and could cap the week off with his second Super Bowl championship on Sunday.

Kansas City is also lucky enough to have one of the better offensive minds in league history as their head coach Andy Reid, and arguably the best tight end of all time in Travis Kelce to pair with Mahomes. On the defensive side of the ball, like the Eagles, the Chiefs also had a Defensive Player of the Year finalist on their team in Chris Jones. Both of these squads are very well-rounded.

Prediction/Pick

The first thing I’ll predict is that this is going to be an awesome game. These were without question the two best teams in football this season.

That being said, I think Philadelphia is better in more places than the Chiefs are. The only true edge Kansas City has is at quarterback. The Eagles win a very tight game – and an instant classic.

Congrats to Philly, you’ve won your second Super Bowl in six years.

Prediction: Eagles 31 – Chiefs 28

Side: Eagles -1.5

Total: OVER 50.5

With sports gambling quickly becoming mainstream across the country, Super Bowl Sunday is the best and easiest way to familiarize yourself with it. You can literally bet on anything. The coin toss, the halftime show, the results of plays, and so much more.

My favorite bet every year is who will win the Super Bowl MVP. Betting on who will be the best player, on the best team, in the biggest game of the season is always a fun wager to keep you invested in the game.

Here are the odds, from our exclusive wagering partners at BetOnline.ag, on who will win the MVP award on Sunday:

Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Award

Jalen Hurts                        +110

Patrick Mahomes             +125

Travis Kelce                    +1200

Miles Sanders                +2200

AJ Brown                        +2500

Hasson Reddick             +2500

Devonta Smith               +3300

Dallas Goedert               +3300

Isaiah Pacheco               +4500

Chris Jones                     +5000

Here are my top five picks to take home the award:

5. Chris Jones (+5000)

Chris Jones has been a monster for Kansas City ever since they drafted him in 2016. He was a First-Team All-Pro in 2022, tied a career-high with 15.5 sacks this season, and is one of three candidates for Defensive Player of the Year.

Jones is able to wreak havoc at any point. Betting on him going for 2+ sacks and a few TFLs in a win, would be worth a sprinkle on +5000 to win MVP.

4. Hasson Reddick (+2500)

Speaking of game wreckers, Hasson Reddick has been exactly that for the Eagles in 2022/23. After stops in Arizona and Carolina, the 2017 first-round pick signed with Philadelphia this offseason – and shined.

Reddick was second to only Nick Bosa with 16 regular season sacks – and is now pacing the postseason with 3.5. He’s been a massive addition to the Eagles pass rush.

Two years ago, the Buccaneers beat Kansas City in the Super Bowl thanks to their dominant front seven getting after Patrick Mahomes. Reddick could lead this type of charge on Sunday and bring home the MVP award in the process.

3. Travis Kelce (+1200)

Here’s where the rankings go from “longshot” to “could actually happen”.

Travis Kelce is the number one target, on the number one offense, in the number one football game of the year… yet his odds to be the best player in the game are +1200.

This feels like an obvious value play to me. If it’s not going to be a quarterback, Kelce would be by far the most likely recipient.

2. Patrick Mahomes (+125)

Could Patrick Mahomes double up on regular season MVP and Super Bowl MVP?

Seven of the last ten Super Bowl MVPs have been quarterbacks – so statistically speaking, it’s highly likely that it’ll be Mahomes’ award if the Chiefs win on Sunday.

This would be Mahomes’ second Super Bowl title and his second Super Bowl MVP award. Pretty good for a 27-year-old who is in just his fifth season as a starter.

1. Jalen Hurts (+110)

For me, the only person who beats out Mahomes in this category for Sunday is Jalen Hurts. The main reason being? The Eagles are the better team and are more likely to win.

The other? Jalen Hurts is outstanding. The third-year QB had a combined 35 touchdowns this season (22 passing and 13 rushing) in just 15 games and the Eagles were 14-1 in his starts. He also has five total TDs this postseason and is the man in charge of the dominant Philly offense.

If you want to bet on the Eagles to win the Super Bowl but don’t want to lay -1.5 on the spread, Hurts at +110 feels like a built-in moneyline bet to me.

We are just under five days away from Super Bowl Sunday, so it’s time to dig into the betting angle.

The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles are squaring off in this year’s NFL championship, and our exclusive wagering partners at BetOnline.ag have all of the best props for the big game. Here are three of my favorites, along with a pick for each:

What Will Be Higher?

Travis Kelce Receiving Yards            -175

Jason Kelce Snaps Played                 +135

As I’m sure you’re all well aware by now, Travis and Jason Kelce are the first pair of brothers in NFL history to play against each other in the Super Bowl. We of course had Jim and John Harbaugh in 2013, but they were on the sideline – not the field.

Though I do believe the Philadelphia offense is going to control the game and allow the Eagles some breathing room against Kansas City, Kelce is still going to be the Chiefs’ number one target – especially with all of the injuries building up on their offense.

Travis ends up going for at least 100 yards in the game, beating Jason’s number of snaps by 25+.

The pick: Travis Kelce Receiving Yards (-175)

Total Number of Players to have a Pass Attempt?

Under 2.5              -175

Over 2.5                +145

This is always a fun bet to sweat out as coaches are bound to pull out some tricks for the Super Bowl.

Famously, the Eagles ran the “Philly Special” the last time they played in the big game, with Trey Burton completing a pass to Nick Foles for a touchdown against the Patriots. That game actually featured four players with a pass attempt, as New England tried (and failed) to get Tom Brady a reception from Danny Amendola.

The point is – betting on either Andy Reid or Shane Steichen trying to throw the opposing defense off guard with a trick pass is worth +145.

The pick: OVER 2.5 (+145)

Color of Liquid Poured on Winning Coach

Orange                                   EVEN

Yellow/Green/Lime             +200

Blue                                          +500

Clear/Water                         +1200

Red/Pink                              +1400

Purple                                    +1600

Maybe it’s because I won this bet last year with a correct guess of blue, but “Gatorade color” is one of my favorite things to wager on during the Super Bowl.

It’s completely random, which makes it so enticing. I’m going to choose the traditional Gatorade color this season with Yellow/Green (Lemon Lime). I like the Eagles in the game, and they wear green – so that’s the justification.

The pick: Yellow/Green/Lime (+500)

It’s no secret that it will take a lot of things to go right for the Patriots to contend for a Super Bowl in 2022-2023. However, what’s shocking is just how much their odds have fallen.

The last time I wrote about the Patriots chances of hoisting the Lombardi this season was back on February 14th, the day after the Rams won Super Bowl LVI. They held the 11th highest odds at +2500 according to our sponsors at BetOnline.ag. Here’s what I wrote in February:

There has been an abundance of turnover throughout the last several weeks on New England’s coaching staff – something that may not bode well for a rookie quarterback heading into his second season. Josh McDaniels took the Las Vegas Raiders head coaching job, – and has plans to takes assistant coaches Bo Hardegree, Mick Lombardi, and Carmen Bricillo with him from New England.

When asked about McDaniels leaving for Vegas, Mac Jones said “It’s not my first rodeo with dealing with a new coordinator. At Alabama. I think back to all the different guys I’ve worked with and I have a lot of experience with learning a new — we’re gonna keep the same system but, you know, new terminology here and there. I know coach [Bill] Belichick will have a plan, and I’m looking forward to working just getting better as a player regardless of who’s out there with us.”

Let’s hope Bill has a plan, or else this Patriots team can go from exciting and promising to old and steadfast very quick.

Since then, the Patriots have lost their best player in JC Jackson, failed to bring in a seasoned offensive coordinator, and are scrapping for wide receiver talent around Mac Jones as they are all either injured, injury prone, or on the trade block.

Their odds have dropped significantly because of this. They now hold the 21st highest odds, sitting at +5000.

11th to 21st… That’s not great. Here’s a look at BetOnline’s top-10 to win Super Bowl LVII:

Super Bowl LVII Odds to Win

Buffalo Bills                                                    +600

Tampa Bay Buccaneers                                +900

Kansas City Chiefs                                       +1100

Los Angeles Chargers                                  +1100

Los Angeles Rams                                        +1100

Green Bay Packers                                       +1200

Baltimore Ravens                                        +1600

Cincinnati Bengals                                      +1600

San Francisco 49ers                                   +1600

Eagles/Cowboys/Colts/Broncos              +2200

Eleven teams from the AFC have a higher chance at winning the Super Bowl than New England does. That puts them in the bottom-5 in their own conference according to oddsmakers. Do I think New England is the 12th best team in the AFC? No. Do I think they can win the Super Bowl? Also no.

My pick for the Super Bowl LVII winner is the Los Angeles Chargers. They have a top-5 quarterback talent, great offensive weapons, and spent this offseason bolstering their defense. I also think, contrary to popular belief, that Brandon Staley is a good head coach. He’ll show that this year. Take the Chargers +1100.

Storylines

The Rams finished the regular season 12-5 and were the second seed in the NFC playoff picture. After trading for Matthew Stafford from the Lions last January, this team went into complete ”win now” mode. They’ve always been that way under Les Snead and Sean McVay, but this season has really shown it. They brought in Von Miller and Odell Beckham Jr. during the regular season as well – with no regard for future draft picks.

The Rams have been my team since they shipped out Goff for Stafford. I bet them at +1400 to win the Super Bowl in June – and am confident in the ticket cashing on Sunday.

For full disclosure, I did hedge out of my Rams future a little bit to guarantee a profit, but I am still heavy on LA for Sunday.

The Bengals are the surprise team of 2021-22, and quarterback Joe Burrow has been their savior. He threw for 4,611 yards and 34 touchdowns this season and led Cincy to a 10-7 regular season – and now three straight wins to land them in the Super Bowl.

Zac Taylor, a disciple of Sean McVay’s scheme, took the reins in Cincinnati in 2018 – and has a 16-32-1 record since becoming head coach.

They may not be ready for the big time just yet, but this Bengals team will be a problem in the AFC for years to come.

Injury News

LA Rams

Rams running back Darrell Henderson is expected to play this weekend after being out since December 26th. They will ride the hot hand for their running game between Sony Michel, Cam Akers, and Henderson on Sunday.

Tight end Tyler Higbee sprained his MCL in last weekend’s game against the 49ers and is questionable for Sunday’s game. He did not practice on Thursday.

Cam Akers, Christian Rozeboom, Grant Haley, Taylor Rapp, Jalen Ramsey, Van Jefferson, and Andrew Whitworth were all full participants in Thursday’s practice.

Tackle Joe Noteboom was limited.

CIN Bengals

Bengals tight end CJ Uzomah also suffered a knee injury in last weekend’s AFC Championship game – and has not practiced yet this week. Uzomah says he will play, but Zac Taylor has yet to give it his word. He was limited in Thursday’s practice.

Cam Sample, Stanley Morgan, Josh Tupou, and Jackson Carman were all full participants on Thursday.

Prediction/Pick

You think I’m going to pick against the Rams NOW?! No way. Matt Stafford was made for Los Angeles, and they’re a team of destiny.

The Bengals are going to have a very hard time with LA’s front seven. I think Burrow will play well when he has the time to – but the Bengals ultimately won’t get it done.

Congratulations Rams – you’re Super Bowl champions.

Prediction: Rams 31 – Bengals 24

Side: Rams -4

Total: OVER 48.5
